So apparently a new slew of Casey Anthony pics have been distributed across the web (see above). It’s 3:59AM Eastern Standard Time, and I was taking a break from reading some Walter Benjamin essays (and no, I don’t pronounce his name as though I speak German because, really, my German is like my French—non-existent and insufficiently pretentious-sounding when I attempt to mimic it). Stats for this website reveal that I am apparently a huge hit in Russia (which Sarah Palin can see from her house, still), and also China. The reference to Sarah Palin came up, incidentally, because Casey’s attire in the photo above reminds me of a typical Sarah Palin for VP campaign outfit.
I would love to know why I’ve got the Eastern market cornered, but I suspect it just has something to do with spamming and/or hacking attempts. That or porn. Because at the end of the day it really just boils down to porn, as well all know. Open letter: Dear Russia and China, I less-than-three you. Pl0x not to be hacking me, kthnx.
If I had pickles I would be eating them right this second, in spite of the fact that I have already brushed my teeth for the night. But there are no pickles to be found here—dill or other.
In another hour, bedtime.
I would like to help a homeless young adult pay for the cost of an undergraduate education, but I can’t do it alone:
The money will go into my Paypal account, and I will gather it into one lump sum and send it as a check to Covenant House in Newark, NJ. (I chose a young person from NJ because this is the state I was living in when my patron found me—the same patron without whom I would never have completed my undergraduate work, let alone gone on to complete a Master’s degree and now, very nearly, a Ph.D.).
If you don’t trust me with the money, you can also send it directly to the following address:
Covenant House
330 Washington Street
Newark, NJ 07102
(If you choose this option, please clearly indicate on your check or enclosed letter that the money is intended for “The undergraduate education of a deserving youth.”)
You can also view the website for Covenant House here.
If you do donate, please indicate to me whether or not you would like the recipient of the money to know your name. If not, I will keep you anonymous.
The goal is to raise $2,000 total, although more than that would be fantastic.
It’s not even close to the cost of tuition, but it is a start. Covenant House will make sure the money goes directly to the educational institution.
Thank you for your help.
