Some of you may remember that I was considering HiCy as a possible MS treatment, but then had to cancel my trip to Baltimore (last August) due to an emergency wisdom teeth extraction.

I finally managed to get new appointment dates.

I see Dr. Kerr, the neurologist, on July 29th, 2009 and Dr. Brodsky, the oncologist on August 4th, 2009.

As I’ve mentioned before in other, more informal contexts, I am in no way “committing” to this treatment. Rather, the purpose of my trip is to meet the Doctors, learn more about the procedure, risks, etc., and ask questions. Overall, I am feeling pretty positive and am looking forward to my visit in Baltimore.

Immunosuppression as Unicorns (or: This Post is Not About Caylee Anthony).

For now I offer up this little gem of audio to you: Immunosuppression as a field of unicorns….

[It's in .MP3 format, so click to listen or download and save].

I’ve been doing 6 months of “pulse steroids” in addition to continuing on Rebif. Let me just say that some truly whimsical, magical, and fun things happen to the body when you suppress the immune system.

More later (and my apologies to those of you who have already heard this audio via the “other blog” where we all hang out).
